Cyclone Kirrily (January 2024) Townsville Clean-Up

Mendi’s services were called upon after the wake of Cyclone Kirrily.
Heading straight for Townsville on the lead up to the event, the system eventually crossed land as a Category 2 just north of Townsville on 25th January. Bringing with it strong winds and rainfall, resulted in a large amount of Townsville’s street trees being up-rooted.
Mendi assisted with setting up and working at temporary green waste facilities at Lou Lister Park and the Hervey Range Landfill.
With over 1,860km of roads in the Townsville catchment, further works came about with the provision of trucks and labour to assist Council crews clear green waste from residents kerb-sides and transporting to these facilities for mulching.
