Federally funded NDRRA project as a result of 2011 Tropical Cyclone Yasi.
Restoring The Strand to its original profile with an average of 7,000 tonnes of sand loaded and transported from the Burdekin each week.
Over 30,000 tonnes of sand was spread and placed along the beach together with 12,000 tonnes reclaimed and redistributed.
