Heading straight for Townsville on the lead up to the event, the system eventually crossed land as a Category 2 just north of Townsville on 25th January. Mendi's services where called upon after the wake of Cyclone Kirrily, January 2024.
Bringing with it strong winds and rainfall, resulted in a large abount of Townsville street trees being up-rooted. Mendi assisted with setting up and working at temporary green waste facilities at Lou Lister Park and the Hervey Range Landfill. With over 1,860km of roads in the Townsville catchment, further works came about with the provision of Trucks and Labour to assist Council crews clear green waste from residents kerb-sides and transporting to these facilities for mulching.
