The Mendi Group have just finished another successful project for the Port of Townsville with the construction of a laydown area and access road. With over 25,000 tons of imported material from local quarry, CAMM Quarry Roseneath.
One of the key components of this construction project is the stormwater drainage system. This system comprised of RCBC crown units and slab link sections strategically placed to ensure effective drainage of rainwater and prevent flooding. These precast concrete components will play a crucial role in strengthening the access road and laydown area, allowing for heavy loads and vehicular traffic.
To ensure the quality and integrity of the project, a thorough final trimming of the subgrade was performed, followed by a proof roll and inspection. This step will ensure that the subgrade is level and compacted correctly, meeting the required specifications and standards.
